Jean-Claude NOVARO

Jean-Claude Novaro is a master glassmaker born in Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes) on 18 October 1943 and died in Monaco on 30 December 2014.
He works both with marble and tools, in hot applications, in metallization by reduction and with additions of metals, metal oxides, gold leaf and various precious metals. In 1991 he invented a glass which, with the addition of powders, absorbs light and returns it in the dark. Another of his techniques consists of including enamel powders in interlayers in the thickness of the glass in order to create reflections.
From 1963, the Art Deco influence pushes him to create bottles, lamps and vases. In 1998 he created a series of vases on the theme of daily life in Egypt and on the theme of football for the World Cup.
