Gill PAQUET
Gill Paquet, who was in charge of public relations for Johnny Hallyday and a number of leading French music and entertainment stars (including France Gall, Michel Sardou, Eddy Mitchell and Serge Lama), died in Paris on 26 January 1996 after a long illness. He was fifty-seven years old. His name had been inseparable from French show-business since the 1960s.
Born on March 8, 1938, Gill Paquet had begun his career in the 1950s as a press attaché for Universal Films, in charge of the French launch of Orson Welles's La Soif du mal (The Thirst of Evil). At the end of 1963, he met Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan, the stars of yé-yé.
