One evening as he was walking through his hometown of Biarritz, Gilles almost got hit by the car driven by Hélène. Despite this inconvenience, Gilles falls under the spell of this pretty Parisian anesthetist. The two begin an affair, but their romance comes up against the specter of Helene's previous relationship.
