The WHO
The Who was founded in the London suburbs in 1964 by Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon. The band made its mark with the incredible "Generation", which gave birth to their first album. This title quickly became one of the rare anthems of an entire generation because of the violence it aroused on stage. Reputed as the best live band, The Who went on tour after tour: Monterey in 1967, Woodstock and the Isle of Wight in 1969. 1969 was also the year of Tommy, the first rock opera in history. This masterpiece recounts the initiatory journey (drugs, sex, mysticism...) of a deaf, dumb, blind man. The success is phenomenal.
